Made me feel good and I was able to gain knowledge and clarity on “being happy is a choice”. Thank you! I am 68 years old and recently separated after 20 years of marriage. For 6 months now im still in the midst of sadness. One day I told my husband I was so very unhappy with what he has been doing to me. I wanted him to acknowledge his behavior and actions and address it as we talk and discuss it. His response was “happiness is a choice and I cannot make you happy; only you can make you happy; and I want to be happy”. I thought he misinterpreted the meaning of happiness is a choice. I told him I was unhappy so we can both discuss and address What’s causing my unhappiness. I believed discussing was a choice action to be happy. But I was stopped on my tracks by his response.
