They average a thousand (sometimes more) questionnaire answers per country!

This article only focuses on the World Happiness Report, which doesn’t cover government spending. 😉

I think that correlation would be much higher than any of the correlations measured.

Thanks for sharing Ulick. Using happiness as a measurement of success is an intriguing idea that I hope more countries would embrace.

I am not familiar with Botswana, sorry. It’s an interesting topic though! Our editorial calendar here contains more studies and reviews like these, so maybe we can investigate this in the future.

I congratulate you on your great analysis. I am looking for a basis for a measurement of results of public policy and love the idea of happiness index.

I am also intrigued by the results for Botswana, the country of my girlfriend. I know it to be one of the better run countries in Africa with a better economy and fewer tribal and racial tensions.

However, it scores very low and this is mainly attributed to low unexplained happiness. Do you have any idea why?

That is amazing to hear! My pleasure. I noticed a lot of visitors from the University of San Agustin. Was this article shared as part of your lesson, perhaps? 🙂
